Fix Your Smile with Invisalign®

If your crooked teeth have been bothering you for years call a Burlington cosmetic dentist for Invisalign® treatment.

The most established removable braces system is perfect for teens and also adults that have mild to moderate issues without a deep bite.

What is Invisalign®?

If you follow the Chittenden Dental Blog you will recall that Invisalign® is a removable clear braces treatment that corrects tipped and crooked teeth. Moreover, Invisalign® is also amazing for people with small spaces between teeth.

People who are a good fit will require between 11 and 31 sets of clear aligners. Depending on your prescription you will remove and replace a new set every ~14 days.

How Invisalign® Works

Invisalign® works by gradually putting your teeth into the desired position. You will wear your clear aligners for a minimum of 23 hours every day, including while eating and drinking.

Dr. Morris explains that it is extremely important that you stick to the protocol, only removing the aligners during hygiene. If you don’t you could increase your treatment time and reduce your outcome to less than optimal.

Is Everyone a Good Fit?

According to your Invisalign® dentist in Burlington people who have been stabilized, for example, have healthy and stable TMJs (jaw joints), are excellent candidates.

Of course, you will need a thorough examination before you are given the green light for removable braces. A thorough examination means checking your teeth and gums. However, it also means examining your chewing system.

Aligners and Your Chewing System

Your chewing system consists of muscles, tendons, nerves and hard tissues including your bones and jaw joints. If any of these are not working as they should you will have problems that can be exacerbated by Invisalign.

Signs and symptoms of problems include popping/clicking in your jaw joints, muscular tension or pain of your facial or neck muscles, grinding/clenching as well as a host of other issues.

Dr. Morris will examine your chewing system by using 3D (CBCT) technology. If your chewing system is healthy and functioning optimally and you are a good candidate, pictures and impressions are taken for your new aligners.  If not, you can discuss TMJ stabilization prior to Invisalign treatment using MAGO therapy

How Long Does it Take to Work?

How long your treatment will take depends on your prescription. Some patients will see results in as little as 6 months.  With your Burlington Bioesthetic dentist, Invisalign® will give you a beautiful smile with average treatment time between 9 and 18 months.
